I went to Luckie's Tavern for Frozen Harbor music fest. I was asked to remove my hat. I was wearing a stocking cap because it was 35 degrees out. I informed him it was too cold to remove my hat, he insisted I remove it so I decided I would just leave. I noticed on the way out that several patrons had hats on and were not being asked to remove them (this was a Saturday night & the place was packed). On the way out the door, I told the door man that I thought it was unethical that they profile patrons wearing stocking caps & beanies but not people wearing baseball caps. He told me they reserve the right to enforce a dress code if they wish. I informed him I reserve the right to not agree with said policy and would not be coming back if they choose to discriminate. After insisting I was being "drunk & belligerent", they called the cops over to escort me off the premises altogether (by the way, I hadn't had anything to drink all night). I am not sure why that was necessary since I had already left the bar. I guess he did not like me voicing my displeasure. Three cops walked over to escort me out of the Power Plant Live, all of them wearing hats of course, 1 was a stocking style hat & the others were police hats. The hypocrisy and irony was dumbfounding.
