Kings is a terrific family owned local business that supplies seeds and healthy vegetable and flower starts for many south side gardeners. They grow all their own starts, and are a friendlier and more economical alternative to the paltry selection of big box stores. You can pick up everything from kale seeds to flats of collards, okra, ghost peppers, or flowers. Hard to find heirloom veggies and your usual staples. The owners have been in the community for years and know many of the repeat customers and their garden projects. They support community efforts and are consistently friendly, generous and engaged with their plants, their customers and the neighborhood. Always my first stop for both commercial and personal garden needs.

Kings is a local family-owned business that stocks a wide variety of vegetable, herb and flower starts, as well as seeds and garden supplies. Most if not all of the plants come from their own greenhouse and we have always received healthy, sturdy plants. The owners and their staff are always extremely friendly and knowledgable, and go out of their way to help both their customers and the local community. They have many heirloom tomato varieties and some hard to find items, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Special bonus: they sell bulk seed of many common crops (several kinds of kale, collards, beans, chards, spinach, turnips, radishes, mustards, and more). Definitely worth checking out before a big box store or an expensive boutique garden supply store.
