First Date : FAIL / First Time at the Restaurant : WIN

I hate dating but my friend insisted to set me up with a co-worker so I agreed to go on a quasi-blind date (Facebook pictures helped). He picked me up and took me to the Irish Coffee Pub.

I'm from the middle of the Island and never really head to the south shore often so I never heard of this place but I was excited - they're website looked really nice and the menu sounded amazing.

I always feel really awkward when I go out to eat with people I either haven't seen in a while or don't know too well. I'm usually really hungry and want to know what I'm ordering right away so it's hard for me to engage in conversation or even listen to what their saying.

Like I said, I checked out the menu before so I kind of had an idea of what I was going to order but what was really nice about their menu is that they didn't have 489320 items to choose from but they also didn't have like 4 things to choose from.

If you hate seafood or meat, I wouldn't suggest this place at all.

We started off with the Tuna/Wonton appetizer, and it was absolutely amazing. I was actually shocked that they would have this on the menu since it's Asian-style and the rest of the menu is Seafood/Irish, but I was definitely glad they did. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and he ordered the Chicken dish that was in a mushroom sauce. I would have tried it but being highly allergic to mushrooms - wouldn't want to have to slam an epi pen on a first date, and besides, I cleaned my plate with no room to spare.

Can't say much for a second date but I will definitely be going back for seconds to this restaurant!
