Pastor Matthew Barnett came to Los Angeles in 1994 to start a typical church. However, after a series of events Pastor Matthew quickly realized that God didn’t want another typical church. God put it in Pastor Matthew’s heart to start a church that remained open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This church would serve the inner-city’s physical and spiritual needs, bringing a message of hope to the seemingly hopeless. The Dream Center is the fulfillment of that dream. For years, The Dream Center met for church in an old gym with capacity crowds each service. Pastor Matthew began praying that God would provide a building. God answered his prayer, and in 2001, Pastor Matthew, and his wife of two years Caroline, became the senior pastors of Angelus Temple, the birthplace of the Foursquare denomination. Angelus Temple is experiencing great growth! With two services on Sundays and a Thursday mid-week service, we are seeing hundreds come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, be baptized, and begin to serve the community in one of The Dream Center’s many community service projects.
