poor communication of repair options - quote the most expensive (unnecessry?) method and that's it. If you don't ask for an alternative they dont offer. Have to ask too many questions on pricing, products and process that they should volunteer

I've had work done at Gaston's Garage for the last 4 years. Eddie Wilson, the owner, has always been very helpful and straight forward with my particular situation whenever I took a vehicle in with a problem. If he has worked on it before, he remembers what he did. He has always done the right thing with me, and he has saved me money whenever he can. Bill Powell, the service manager, always gives me an estimate when I go in, and it is almost always accurate. I am treated honestly, courteously and fairly. As long as I live in Apex, I will take my vehicles to Gaston's.

I was told by the VW dealership that I needed frame work on my car. After going to a collision center to get an estimate, the estimator told me I was in the wrong place. I needed to go see Eddie at Gaston's Garage. So, I drove right over there. Everyone I talked to at Gaston's has always been very courteous and helpful! Eddie was wonderful! He was very honest and straight-forward about everything that needed to be done. I had to take my car in a few times and each time, he remembered me and the situation. I would highly recommend going to Gaston's Garage! I don't think I'll be going anywhere else anymore.

Several months ago, my truck's alternator bearing froze, resulting in the need for a new alternator and belt. I had waited to do the repair due to illness and needed the truck the next day. I visited Gaston's and left the truck. Thirty or so minutes later, I was called and told the repair would be at least $400. I thought it was a bit on the high side, but I figured the alternator was expensive and gave the go ahead, including an oil change and the replacement of two other belts. I reviewed the statement and noted the labor charge for the alternator installation was $200 for 2.5 hours. I questioned the charge and was told the book called for that much time. I told the service manager it took the last mechanic who replaced the alternator no more than 45 minutes. There's only one or two bolts involved. Too pricey for what little was done. I'm not a mechanic, don't have a lift, and have replaced a similarly located alternator in less than two hours. Much to pricey for me.
