I love this nail salon. It's the best in Athens, hands down! I've been there five times, and the second time I walked in the door the manager, Tran, and the nail tech who did my nails the first time, Dong, both smiled and called out to me by name. It had been three weeks since I was there for my first visit. They are so professional yet so friendly! The manager is really on top of everything that goes on in the salon. She has a really good style of making sure she understands what the customer wants and that they get it. She does this without being pushy or micromanaging the nail techs--they just all seem to work together really well. Dong, who does my nails, is a really good artist. I can give her a general idea of the design I want--usually only on a couple of nails, for accent--and she always does something much prettier than what I had imagined. Even though the shop is right on Prince Avenue, there's usually no problem with parking, as there is a dedicated parking lot just down from the shop that serves Express Nails and several other businesses in that little complex. The last two times I was there, I got the newer gel nails--SNS--which I really like. It's strong, like regular gel, but not so thick looking, and doesn't require as much time under the ultra-violet light, These folks really try hard to please their customers without being pushy. They're all really genuine, caring individuals.

I wanted to treat myself to a full set since I handn't done that in awhile. So, I went after work hoping to do just that. They were friendly when I walked in but when I told them I wanted a full set they asked if I could come by tomorrow. Since I I was going out of town for new years I said no. She said "He isn't here." Who's he? Implying that he was the only one that could do a full set. I highly doubt that a nail salon with 6+ chairs and licensed nail technicians that only one could do a full set. So I decided to just get a manicure instead with the polish I brought. The hand massage was fast, and rushed which meant I didn't enjoy it at all. And the sea salt that she scrubbed on my hands hurt and left my hands red. The polish application was okay but looked like something I could do myself. On top of all that, one of the co workers continually spoke over us the whole time. I will NEVER go back there. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because they were very nice. I have definitely been to better places and was really dissapointed.
