Stephen M. Kelanic, MD, FACS, MBA completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Following medical school, he continued to train at Rush University Medical Center where he completed his surgical residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his MBA through the University of Massachusetts in 2017. Dr. Kelanic is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He has also been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1999. He made a transition from an academic medical practice in Chicago to a private practice in the western suburbs of Chicago in 2003. He has been on staff at the Rush Copley Medical Center since that time. He has been working for the Rush Copley Medical Group since 2012. Dr. Kelanic has been involved at every level of medical staff leadership. He served as the Chief of Staff of Rush Copley Medical Center from 2017-2019. He has served on the Board of Directors of Rush Copley Medical Center since 2015. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Rush Health since 2013. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Rush Health ACO and the Rush Copley Medical Group. Dr. Kelanic is currently the Director or Otolaryngology at Rush Copley Medical Center, the Chief of Surgery of the Rush Copley Medical Group and the Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee at Rush Copley Medical Center. Dr. Kelanic has utilized his relationships at Rush University to establish specialty Otolaryngology clinics at Rush Copley Medical Center. He is proud to announce that several members of the Department of Otolaryngology are now providing University level care for our patients with exceptionally complex medical conditions within their community. Dr. Kelanic enjoys all facets of Otolaryngology, but has always had a special interest in treating pediatric patients. He places a great deal of importance in taking the time to communicate with his patients and their families about their health and medical conditions. He believes that it is important for the patient and the medical team to communicate, collaborate, and to work together in order to make the best treatment decisions and to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes.
