Ellen Fraint, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. She specializes in treating children with oncologic, hematologic, immune and genetic disorders through stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapies.After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences in 2008, Dr. Fraint obtained her Doctor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Afterward, she completed a pediatrics residency at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in 2017. Dr. Fraint also completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and a fellowship in pediatric bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapies at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.Dr. Fraint’s research laboratory focuses on studying stem cell homing and engraftment post-transplantation and ways to make transplants safer for children. She is also working to develop new tools for the study of pediatric leukemia, and her work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications and abstracts.Dr. Fraint is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric hematology & oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Dr. Fraint has received multiple awards and honors, including the Research Training Award for Fellows from the American Society of Hematology in 2021.
