If and when the Zombie Apocalypse hits and this this Food Bazaar at East 161st Street near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx turns out to be the last place in New York to get food, then go there. Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague upon humanity it has become.

I got home from there about an hour ago for the first time in many months, and went directly to my laptop to warn unsuspecting innocents against it. This was once my regular market owing to the large variety of Latin American, Caribbean and Asian products it carries, and because it has a generally deceit selection of (mostly) fresh fish. That is still largely the case. Now, however, it is over-run by inconsiderate shoppers who think nothing of blocking the isles with their carts as they browse the shelves at leisure, many with astonishingly badly behaved children in tow whose running, screaming, whining and otherwise disruptive behavior are evidently taken as quite normal, and evidently is enabled and coddled by what I will not hesitate to call bad parenting. And before the usual suspects of non-judgmental, tolerant, family-friendly, progressive, advocates of "shared spaces" et. al. enablers of anti-social activities get too self-righteously indignant at these remarks, please note that while I could care less about other people's choices, how those choices impact others indeed gives those others -- me in this case -- cause to note and comment upon them; "shared spaces" by definition entails all of us who share them to a voice in assessing them.

Furthermore, this location is now badly run. The place was packed while no less than half the checkout lines were closed, resulting in outrageously long lines and waits. The below-ground parking system is now a huge mess, requiring that those of us with a validated parking ticket to line up at the exits from the garage, go into a two-person office, have those tickets run through a machine, get back into our cars, and then exit the garage by inserting said ticket into a reader that lifts the arm that allows us to drive out. This would be funny on a comedy skit but is an absurd way to run a business. I don't know why what was once a reasonable place to shop here in the South Bronx became this purgatory of rudeness, lack of consideration and stupefying irresponsible adults but avoid it at all cost.

Enjoy the large selection of different ethnic foods... Find the staff(cashiers) to be rude and disrespectful, untrained very much in need of customer service classes on how to deal with the public.

Trash! Keep Out of Food Bazaar

SHOP WITH CAUTION! I truly hope that if you decide to shop at Food Bazaar Supermarket 238 East 161st Street, Bronx, NY for either price or convenience you think twice. The meat smells rotten and is filmy. My Mom is blind and shopping is very difficult for her. Long story short these scumbags take advantage and over charge her, "forget" to give her all her bags or worse sell her rotten meat. I have had enough! I called the manager to complain. I spoke to some jerk named "Sean" who could not care less. I let him know that my Mom came home with a rotten chicken she had just bought. I asked if she could bring it back in three days when she was able to go with someone else. He said "No! Our policy is 24 hours". When I reminded him she is blind and can't make the trip that easily he just said the policy is the same regardless of handicap.
