Provided by YPmobileMy wife and I stopped in for lunch, and although we waited 30 minutes to be seated, it was well worth it!!! We started off with the fried green tomatoes appetizer at the recommendation of our server Elizabeth, and she was right, light, crisp batter on thinly sliced tomatoes. Delicious!!! We opted for the shrimp po' boys, again recommended by Elizabeth, and again a great item. The hoagie roll was soft on the inside with a thin crust. The shrimp were jumbo sized and were fried and the batter was again very light and crisp. The garlic mayo, greens and diced tomatoes were the perfect accent. For sides I opted for the home made chips with ranch dressing. The dressing was ver good, but the chips were not as crisp as I would have. My wife had the pasta salad side and it was extremely good and I wish I had selected that versus the chips. We took our desserts to go and my chocolate pie was superb, although I felt the portion did not justify the price. My wife's berry cobbler was wonderful and the portion was definately worth the money!!! My only real complaint was the big screen tuned to ESPN, it really was a distraction amd did not fit the atmosphere. Five stars for the food and service!!!

Provided by YP.comJake's is an awesome place to eat - essentially southern favorites with a sophisticated twist. The cornmeal fried oysters are my favorite! I definitely recommend Jakes. They were even icluded in a show on Food Network!

Provided by YP.comJake's is my new favorite restaurant. It's a nice tribute to Southern cooking, but with a healthier and more gourmet approach. This is not the boring fare you will find at the chain restaurants. Everything is cooked fresh and is delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. If there is anything you don't like, they'll fix it. They offer lunch and dinner (Tues-Sat) and book parties. My current favorites at Jake's - hot green tea, wings (they even bring hot towels!), pan-seared salmon with dill sauce on the side, baby spinach, and pesto mashed potatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
