I received a collection letter from this law firm stating that I owed a substantial amount of money in sales tax for a business that I don't even own. The letter stated that I had ignored the previous attempts to reach me, which is not true as I had never received any contact from this law firm in the past. This letter was aggressive and threatening. When I called to question why I had received this I was treated in a condescending manner and the person I spoke to was rude, disrespectful and sarcastic. He talked over me, interrupted me, and was very difficult to work with. After hearing his explanation I understand that this law firm was conducting research to attempt to locate the correct person, but the entire approach from this law firm was shady. Clearly the letter was designed to scare people into sending in the money. The letter was not even written professionally; the final sentence was not even complete. I would not use this law firm for any personal needs. If this is how they represent themselves while conducting "research" and if this is how they treat people who are simply trying to get answers, then this is not a company I would care to be associated with. I did ask this firm to send me a letter stating I was not the person they were looking for and that I did not owe the money as stated in the letter they sent to me and they refused, even though the representative I was speaking with agreed that I was not the person they were looking for.
