We eat out like 21 meals a week, so there aren't too many area restaurants at which we haven't eaten. Living tucked away in the NW corner of Coral Springs, we usually end up going to the restaurants on University, but with the hours we often keep (sometimes not eating dinner til 10 PM), our choices are often limited. The Ale House is open late and Ruby Tuesday's is also open fairly late; closer to us is Buffalo's, but last night it was so packed we couldn't even find a parking space. As we were driving away, we noticed Lefty's, and, never having been in there before (not to mention the price of gas these days), we decided to give it a shot. Anyway, the decor is nice, relatively upscale for something called a "tavern and grill." Our waiter, James, was on the ball, able to make suggestions, keeping the drinks coming before we noticed they were down...music came from a wall-mounted touch-screen jukebox and provided a great variety of older and more current stuff to hum along with...

We ordered an appetizer of onion rings (kind of pricy at about $8, but it was a huge platter), batter-dipped and accompanied by the usual "petal" sauce (mmmmm). I had the French Dip, which came au jus and with skinny fries. All of this was was good, if not the absolute best I've ever had; it still had some fatty pieces (even though I asked for it REALLY REALLY LEAN), but it was enough so that I took home the other half for lunch today. My guy had the chicken francaise, which included a large portion of chicken and an even larger portion of pasta. I happen to love chicken francaise, so he was kind enough to give me a small taste, and it was excellent. We finished off with some killer chocolate ganache cake, which was VERY SWEET, I'm warning you.

I have to add that the icing on the cake (figuratively speaking) was...BUZZTIME!! I was able to play my trivia! AWESOME!!

And did I mention they have plenty of TVs for the guys to watch the sports, plus free Wi-Fi? :)
