Some of the worst service EVER!

[Before I begin, I just want to say that I am not out to offend anybody, this is just the experience I have had...]

The store is great, it's some of the people working there that need work.

While most of the cashiers and sales associates are friendly and attentive, I have had several instances where the employees left much to be desired.

In one case, while attempting to purchase a video game guide, I came across the last one that the store had in stock. It was ripped and not in the best condition, but since I couldn't find it anywhere else, I decided it would do.

When we brought it up to the register, the cashier was very polite and helpful and called up the manager to see if I would be able to get a discount off of the item.

Well, we waited there, very patiently, for about ten minutes.

The store wasn't busy, there was maybe a whole three other people in the store, but alas, the manager was FAR too busy to come assist us in any way shape or form. He/She didn't even bother to call to see what their cashier needed!

In the end, I left the store disappointed and empty handed.

The second instance was when I brought my X-Box 360 in to the Geek Squad/Customer Service Desk because it had gotten the "red ring of death" (basically the machine itself was failing).

They were, again, polite enough, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing.

They plugged in the basic power cord and the machine started.

"Oh, it seems to be fine now. Maybe it was just dust." One person told me.

I asked them if they should plug in the HDMI cable (the cable that handles the audio, video, input/output etc), but they assured me that it wouldn't affect it in any way.

My boyfriend, who was with me (and knows a bit about electronics), also asked them to please try it with the cable because it could have just been a fault in the machine when it tried to actually run the game to the TV, and not just turn the machine on.

Yet, despite our pleas, Geek Squad assured us the machine was fine and sent us on our way.

Imagine my anger when I got home and, oh my god, it was still broken!

(We even tried my friend's HDMI cable-since we knew his worked--to make sure it wasn't just MY cable, but it still issued the red ring of death.)

So, we had to go BACK to Best Buy the next day (and trust me when I say it's a good distance from my house), and had to explain what had happened to someone else, who then (although no fault of her own) couldn't do anything for us because whatever line she had to call to make the exchange, was down. We waited around for an hour, but it was still down at that time, and although SHE was very helpful, offering to call us every hour with an update, I was still stuck with my broken X-Box that would have already been fixed if they had done what I had asked.

We told her we would be back in tomorrow, and so, for the third time, we headed out to Best Buy.

We even had trouble with Best Buy when we finally exchanged it for a new X-Box and renewed our warranty, but I won't even go into that ordeal.

Suffice to say, it's sad when a girl with no knowledge really on how a machine like this works, knows more about a product than a Geek Squad employee, who is, by the way: "a highly trained professional."

Again, I love the store, it's still my go to place for my DVD/Video Game needs, but please, Best Buy, maybe retrain some of your employees?

Much appreciated.

lap top costumer

Do not buy anything from this store they would not take back a defective lap top and made me pay 15% to return it. My daughter had a defective I-Pod from them and they would not back up there own warrantee.
