Catawba Science Center is Science museum featuring hands-on displays, including an aquarium with sharks, plus a planetarium. Based in Hickory, N.C., the center also focuses on physical, natural and earth sciences. It has a digital planetarium theater with an arrangement of 65 seats. The center features saltwater and freshwater aquariums as well as a marine touch pool with live sharks and stingrays. It offers educational and engaging birthday parties for all ages, including adults, scout camp-ins, family camp-ins and science camps. Catawba Science Center offers educational programs for home schools, preschool and public programs that include workshops, hikes, trips, demonstrations and events with live animals.
