This place is a mixed bag. The check-in people were great, as was my fist nurse. But then she went off duty and I think they literally forgot about me. I sat in a room for two hours with no one coming by for updates. That's okay, though, since I brought a book. However, what annoyed me was, because my surgery was done so late (supposed to be 15:00 but was more like 17:00), everyone wanted to leave by the time it finished at 18:00. In fact, the surgeon and the whole team left, so I don't even know if the surgery was a success! Two night shift nurses stuck around as I was coming out of general anesthesia, and they were basically like "just go home and take your medicine!" They REALLY wanted to leave. To which I say: okay, if my surgery had been done on TIME, and I lingered around for 2-3 hours to recover from general anesthesia, then yes, it is me being a lush, but they did my surgery late AND had the nerve to kick me out before I fully recovered! I was still partially unconscious and in extreme pain when I was driven home! Maybe this is normal, as this is my first surgery. I had 30 minutes of time from being out of the surgery room after a 90-minute to being in the car on my way home. Surely they allow you to recover from anesthesia for longer than that?!
