I will be back. Friendly vet,...

Dr. Joe did an ear crop consult for my dobermans and said they are candidates for ear cropping, charged me, and then refused to do the ear crops. He declined to respond to my requests for a reason and would not refund my consultation money.

I was referred to this place by my neighbor. Very caring and honest. Most vets I feel are overpriced and into up selling....this one is very reasonably priced. The building looks clean and new and staff is all nice. Glad I traveled from West Knoxville to here....saved me over $600 and was very pleased.

I have waited almost a year to write a review on my experience with Dr. Ricardo Kendrick and the staff but after talking to another vet I was advised to write a review because the whole experience was HORRIBLE. When my family adopted a dog we took her there several times for her routine check ups. We never had a problem and the staff was friendly. I always paid in full at the time of the visit and never had an outstanding bill. In the fall of 2013 my dog somehow managed to get a wii controller part stuck in her mouth. I immediately called them and they looked her up and said "bring her right in we will be waiting for her". I load the dog and my three very young kids into the car and rushed her to the vet. When we got there they rushed her back and we waited in the waiting room. When the assistant came and got us I immediately told her that I didn't have the money to pay at that time but I would be able to pay in 1 week. I told her that she could take my card as a prepayment. The last thing I was thinking was that this would be a problem because I have been there several times and never had an issue with payment. Her attitude turned from not so good to begin with to nasty in 2 seconds. Her exact words were "well you should have informed us that you couldn't pay us because we would have made different choices". By different choices she meant they would have not gave my dog medicine to calm her down so that could get the toy out. By different choices she meant that my dog would not be receiving antibiotics for the cuts in her mouth. I asked to speak to the Vet. The Vet comes in, listens to me explain that this was an emergency and that I have brought my pet in there many times and I would give him a prepayment but I just couldn't pay him at that specific time. He looked at me with my 3 children in the room and said "if you don't pay at least $50 by the time we close I am keeping your dog". I had to stop him from talking to send my kids into the waiting room so they couldn't hear anymore of the conversation. He continued to tell me that he was $50,000 in debt because of helping people "like me". The conversation pretty much ended there. They were going to hold my dog for ransom. So I had 40 minutes to rush and get $50 dollars from my grocery budget because I could not explain to my kids why we couldn't bring our dog home. Needless to say we ate very cheap that week. This Vet could have had a customer for life, hell I would have even brought their expensive dog food if only they would have shown a little compassion. Instead I will NEVER EVER step foot in this place again and I cringe every time I drive by. And by the way, I paid the rest of the bill in full one week later, just like I said I was going to do.

Vet is friendly but they are very expensive for treatments. When my dog was diagnosed with heart worm they were cold about it handed us the cost which was over $1000. We looked around and found better treatment for under $400. They kept the dog longer in boarding and I'm happy to report she is healthy and happy. I have another dog that is prone to ear infections. I know the signs and symptons. I was told by the front desk staff that I would be able to get refills for up to a year if I did a follow up check. I did so (and paid for it) but am unable to refill the prescription today at the 6 month mark. I'm not going to take my animals to a place that lies. I cannot trust the staff there at all.

Thank God for Dr. Joe Kendrick he took special care & time for my little puppy so that he could make him a strong & happy lil boy. My puppy went thru a big move from TX to TN and fallen ill very quickly. I didn't know who to trust with him but Dr. Kendrick assured me he would handle his care and that's exactly what he did..Thank you to Dr. Kendrick and the wonderful staff here for making a bad time in our lives a lot better and very quickly.

Ashville Highway Animal Clinic

This is the only vet my cat will tolerate. Dr Kendrick is great! I hope I never have another pet emergency like the last one, but if I do I know where to go! Thank you Dr Kendrick for getting us through a very rough time. I appreciate every thing you and your staff did to help make it better.
