Nick correctly diagnosed the problem and made a repair. He spent less than 30 minutes on the job, including a 10-minute trip to his car to pick up a replacement part. He replaced the starter box and charged me $250. I challenged the amount and Nick was unable to explain how he came up with it. His response was, that if I had to replace the entire unit, it would cost me over $1,500. I paid. I them researched on the Internet and consulted a friend who is in the same line business in another city, and everyone confirmed that i should have paid no more than $150. Since the part was well below $50, Nick's hourly rate is apparently $400, Way too much for AC repairs. Stay away from repair people like Nick who pull their prices out of thin air.
