The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, also known as MTA, is a transit planner, coordinator, designer, builder and operator. It serves more than 9 million people on an over 1,400-square-mile service area. The authority operates a fleet of nearly 2,000 buses and approximately 70 miles of metro rail line.
