I had spent several hours trying to fix my wife's watchband before giving it up. I had given up taking watches to the watch repair places close by because they had prices I couldn't afford. The little local shop repair guy I use to go to went back to work at a watch company. The wife and I drove across town to East Side and the guy fixed my wife's watch bad in five minutes, while we waited! And he charged use five bucks! All that time I spent hitting my head against the wall trying fix the damned thing! We have found or new watch repair joint.

I have just come from Eastside Watchbands, in Madison Heights, Mich, and alas I will have to find another watch repair shop to take my business. I have ended my patronage of the subtle scammers Bob & Mark, proprietors of this establishment, both of whom I spoke with, but did not receive satisfaction from.

For the past 3 years, I have used Eastside Watchbands for various repair and replacement of 2-3 bands/batteries. I am a repeat customer. Today, I arrived at their shop requesting help with a watch and was told it would cost $5 to close the back of watch I had opened. Outrageous! Their logic? “Go anywhere else and they will charge you more.” In essence, they are 'nickel and dimers' of any service they provide. They would not even compromise on repairing a different watch, and then fixing the other watch for free. I was told, “Do you think a mechanic will let you borrow a tool to repair something you broke?” No, but, if I needed help, it would certainly be good customer service to provide something small, and then get a customer for life.

I work in a building nearby their location with 250 plus employees. Coworkers had previously said how badly these 2 will take advantage of you. Until now, I had not believed them. Until now, I had been treated with a cursory business respect. Going forward, I will be the person who tells 10 others about a bad business experience.

Although this business has been operating for 9 years, it should obtain new ownership that emphasis customer SERVICE.

Since this is an independent business, with no regulatory oversight, I have no other recourse than social media, and word of mouth, to express my dissatisfaction with Eastside Watchbands. I will never go there again. If you need watch repair, I suggest you find another business. July 2015
