Owners response to 2000hoo's review

I was recently informed by a customer that upon searching for me on the internet that there was a bad review written on this website. I am familiar with this customer considering it was one of the few complaints I have received. This gentleman called me after the inspection unhappy that he had taken apart his cartridge filter to find that the cartridges were going bad. This was an internal part that would require disassembly of the filter system to find. In some situations , the specific gasket for the specific model of filter would need to be replaced. This would result in ordering the part, returning with the part, payment of the part , and possible leaking in the meantime. It is clearly stated on our inspection sheet that what our company provides is a "visual inspection only". This would mean that we do not dissasemble equipment to find the source of a problem. I tried to explain this to the customer, considering disassembly of older equipment could result in the liability of further problems. We do not "simply acknowledge that you have a filtration system" as stated by this individual . We have a 20 point checklist for every major structure or visible piece of equipment for the swimming pool. In the case of the filter we would check filter pressure, check for any visible leaks or crack on the tank , plumbing, band , or drain plug at base. We would base the operation of the filter on the pressure reading. Any problems found are listed. This gentlemans filter worked fine, He was unhappy that the cartridges were experiencing normal wear and tear and were getting to the point of needing replacement. I also tried to explain that the light was working fine upon inspection, and to check the breaker as well as the GFI to make sure that power was ok. He never mentioned a crack so I really dont know how to comment on that. We always try to do a thorough and fair job and Im sorry that this customer was unhappy with our policy. In my experience no pool company disassembles equipment to inspect internal working parts.
