The completely renovated Joy Theater is a 10,000 square foot multipurpose venue that features live music concerts, comedy, theatrical productions, and is available to host private events and parties. Fully re-purposed, the Joy Theater has a state of the art sound and lighting system and can hold up to 900 guests in our flexible seating plan; including 250 in the balcony. Staying true to our New Orleans heritage, the Joy has been returned to its art deco grandeur of the late 1940's, including the renovation of the iconic marquee which again returns to grace Canal Street.

The Joy Theater is conveniently located in downtown New Orleans, on Canal Street, within walking distance of the French Quarter and on the Canal Street streetcar line. With ample parking options within the neighborhood and easy bus drop off locations, it is accessible to New Orleans locals and tourists alike.

This theatre is kind of ghetto...

This theatre is kind of ghetto, but I have fond memories of being a UNO student who would take the bus straight from my dorm's front door to the theatre and seeing a lot of movies there for an inexpensive price. Glad to see it's still around.
