I did something I NEVER do when looking for the golden unicorn (in this case, that's a FAIR mechanic, who's HONEST and STRAIGHTFORWARD - no games, no 🐂💩, just HONEST FAIR & FAST!) and in this case that was selecting the very first paid ad that came up on Google. I NEVER do that - and most ads listed there usually are from out of the area I'm searching in with a toll-free number.

But Lael's listed a local number, so I took a shot ... and I'm SO, SO HAPPY I did!

My 2005 Suburban is up for smog every other year and every smog year, the same stupid purge-valve solenoid goes out and my check engine light comes on a month before my tags and smog are due - EXCRUCIATINGLY FRUSTRATING.

Additionally, while my "permanent" address is Oceanside, I just moved to Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico at the beginning of August and before the move was even finished I had a family emergency that took me out of state for the last 3 weeks and all of that on top of my vehicle's ridiculousness was almost too much for me to take.

Oh and also: the Mexican Border Patrol, who mans the southbound border when entering Mexico, has stopped me EVERY SINGLE TIME I've crossed into Mexico because WHY?

My registration fees are paid, but Mexico was not happy that I did not have a UNITED STATES SMOG STICKER.

YES, REALLY.

But THEN I found Lael's!

Lael actually answered the phone when I called, and he was SO patient, professional, courteous and kind that I was halfway hooked just from the phone call. I thought, "surely there are strings attached to this guy because my luck is not that good ..."

Guess what?
NO STRINGS!
Just excellent, outstanding service; knowledgeable, thorough explanations; and, best of all, an inexpensive fix that will last for years to come!

Because of Lael's patience with me & the time he took with me, I will now be using Lael's International as MY mechanic exclusively. There's not much more I can say to convey how lucky you'll be if you choose Lael's like I did! TYVM!

I had my car repaired by an unnamed shop in Oceanside. While driving on a family trip a week later, the same problem reappeared. When I was able to return home, I took my car to Lael's International Auto Services in Oceanside (a AAA-certified shop) for a diagnosis. He found the underlying cause of the problem quickly and was able to do the repair the same day. I really appreciated the prompt and friendly service. I was treated like I was a long-time customer (this was my first visit but certainly won't be the last!) and, 3 months later, the car has had no further issues. I highly recommend Lael's International Auto Services.

I took my Acura to Lael's due to an oil leak, and there were many things that needed to be done. I wanted the engine light off and anything that had to be done taken care of. We came up with a list of things that needed to be done and Lael added some bushings and a few extras that most shops would have just put back on. The list had a major service - 90k and since it has driven awesome, only needed to do oil changes and breaks since and I'm at 130k now! Thanks for keeping my car happily on the road.

Lael does not tend to his customers need very fast. It took me all day to get out of there.
