This is a half-way house situated in North Philadlephia. It is a private for-profit company that cares little about the residents in the house. Residents complain that they are subjected to verbal abuse from the staff (wanna-be cops posing as security guards, and the facility director, Kimberly Stewart - whose favorite response is - "I don't talk to residents/inmates".



There obviously needs to be some kind of oversight from the people who fund this house. Rules are created as the staff see fit and, of course, the staff is always right. The Department of Corrections should investigate MinSec and the daily operations. There was an inspection done recently by the Department of Corrections. Of course, all the residents were told to find somewhere to go so as to prevent the the possibility of one of them actually telling the DOC the truth about what actually goes on in there. The building was cleaned up and the DOC was told lies about how the residents are treated and how much help they receive in their respective transition back into society.



The residents are only fed one hot meal a day. Breakfast consists of one 1oz. bowl of cold cereal, one piece of fruit or bagel. Lunch is always a cold sandwich (either bologna, salami, or turkey ham). The only hot meal, dinner, is brought already prepared from site unknown and served to the residents in proportions barely enough to satisfy a grown man.





The people at the Deparment of Corrections need to wake up and take an active role in what goes on in private, for-profit half-way houses.
