About 3 years ago I searched and found Duramax Transmission as the best place to have my 2001 Acura CL Type S transmission rebuilt. Tony, the General Manager, and his crew were amazingly professional, always kept me informed as to costs and time needed. Repairs were done promptly and the car delivered to me as promised. But the real plus was that they also provided great car diagnosis and service to me and my wife's 2002 Subaru. Have recommended them to my family, friends and neighbors.

We were quoted $1800 to get our transmission fixed and two weeks to get it done. Almost a month later they finally finished and charged us $2600!!! Not even three years later my transmission starts causing me problems. Called Duramax to see if my car was covered under the warranty and they told us to bring it down. It cost us $92 to tow it there. The next day they called and said they needed proof of yearly transmission flushes in order for the warranty to work. My husband drove the receipts down the next day. Two days later they called and said it was going to cost us $845 just to "drop the transmission" to find out what was going on with it. Upset we took it to another shop. They said a few teeth from the gear broke but what was funny is that he couldn't find any the broken teeth which would have been on the bottom of the pan. He also noticed that is was flushed. So Duramax took the pan off and saw the broken teeth pieces, knew that that was a warranty piece and they would have to cover the cost of it so they jacked up the price of the "transmission drop" to cover the cost of parts and then told us labor was going to be separate!! We paid the other shop $850 to completely fix that car and it is already done! Cant believe I ever brought my car to you guys and you totally screwed me over. I see you are a member of the BBB so I will be giving them a call to let them know how you screwed us out of our warranty!!

Worst "mechanic" i've dealt with, I have to live with an awful clutch even though as soon as they installed it for OVER what they quoted and DOUBLE THE TIME THEY ORIGINALLY SAID.. I went there and addressed my concern about this clutch being so godawful and they played the "there's nothing we'll do about it"

Never returning customer here, and I will not recommend you to them. When you're spending a thousand dollars at a place they better take care of you. Next time I'm going out of Salem

Took my car in for a tranny rebuild and the experience was sketchy from the beginning. The quote was 400.00 under their final price. Once returned it was shifting poorly. The owner of the shop did the test drive with me and diagnosed it as being the torque converter. Told it would "take a few days" which stretched into 8. Gave it back to me and the problem still was not fixed. A couple of weeks later I heard odd noises. A different mechanic found that the transaxle had not been tightly bolted to the frame. The following week the torque converter bolts came loose at 55 mph. I realized that Duramax was not only incompetent had been dangerously negligent. Working with the Better Business Bureau proved a frustrating process of listening to a litany of excuses, blame shifting, and outright fabrications. I am now forced to take them to small claims.

Took my 2004 Corvette to them after A-1 tried to screw me on the repairs to "rebuilt" transmission they installed in 2013. Nathan tore my tranny apart and they found that A-1 had not delivered what I paid $2146.00 for. Instead of a High Performance transmission there were parts for a standard one, and some parts were in fact missing.



Duramax did the proper upgrade and completed the work and good time. Very pleased with them and would recommend them to everyone. I would also suggest that those looking to A-1 check out the Oregon Department of Justice for the complaints against them.
