Farshad Moradi, MD, is a board-certified radiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating disease using medical imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET). His expertise includes general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, and cardiothoracic, cancer, and brain imaging. Dr. Moradi is also experienced in using targeted radionuclide therapy to treat specific types of cancer such as thyroid cancer and metastatic prostate cancer. As a radiologist at an academic medical center, Dr. Moradi instructs medical students, residents, and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. His research interests include PET radiotracers; metabolic imaging; neuroendocrine cancer imaging and peptide receptor radiotherapy; and functional brain imaging.He has coauthored numerous articles, and his work has appeared in Nature Neuroscience, Neuron and NeuroImage, among others. Dr. Moradi completed an internship in internal medicine at University of Massachusetts and residency in radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences School of Medicine in Iran. Dr. Moradi also holds a doctorate degree from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif.
