Eh. It's your standard Mexican food that tastes the same across the south. Not authentic in the slightest. Go to El Aculpoco on Dekalb, identical tasting... same with many of the "authentic" mexican places in Gastonia. I don't get all the raving reviews, especially about service. It's not great at all. Not terrible, but slightly below average.



One positive is the atmosphere. Very nice restaurant for a place like Shelby NC... though can get loud on weekends.



If you want some REAL tasting Mexican food, head to Asheville and try La Taquiera Fast. Fresh and actually made in house -- not frozen crap that arrives on a truck and is microwaved. Their tacos are simple and delicious, their chips very different and yummy and comes with THREE different variety of salsa, the price is a steal for food so fresh and good.

I have had many great meels and drink over the past 6 years here. I just wish I could get Pozole soup, it is made with a pork base like 'Old Mex' in old town San Diego here. Maybe time will change this. I am going there tonight and it is 45 miles from where I now live. You won't be sorry. smiles Ed
