So I've been dealing with my car, because it won't pass smog... took it to a shop where they said that they would charge $120 diagnose the problem and half of that would go towards repairs. We got a call half an hour later saying that the car's O2 sensor was bad and some spark plug wires (Which they checked back in Jan and said were perfectly fine). "Santiago" said he was going to charge us $580 to do the work on top of the $120 he used to diagnose. I'm not stupid, I called my dad (a mechanic) and he said, "Absolutely not. Go to a parts store, get the parts and I'll do it." "Santiago" said that the O2 sensor was going to cost $280 alone, but when we went to O'Reilly's it was only $115. They even went as far as checking the code being thrown off by the check engine light which they verified FOR FREE (mind you, they didn't do it because they had to, but because they were appalled by how we were just treated.) "Santiago" was going to mark up the part almost 150% and then charge us hours for labor for something that takes about 10 min to do. We now have numerous offers to do the job for not even a quarter of the price by good Samaritans. When confronted with all of this, "Santiago" said, "Well that's what I charge, I have to keep the shop open some way," and "Well, you don't trust me now anyways, so why would I give you any money back." Moral of the story.... do not go to Quality Tune Up on Hammer Lane!!!!

They got me in quick without an appointment (for a tune-up) when nobody else could. Everyone treated me great and took good care of me.
