After being told by her cardiologist here in Lawrence to basically go home & die, we asked our cousins who are nurses in Topeka who she should see. So yesterday my mom, Hazel S., had a stent put in for an abdominal aortic aneurysm at Stormont-Vail. The surgery was performed by Drs. Tutuski (sp?) & Jones. We couldn't have asked for better surgeons! We thanked them but please thank them again for us. While we waited during the surgery, we were updated on her condition regularly. Every effort was made to keep us informed & answer any questions we had. Plus, the layout of the hospital made everything so much more convenient. Once we made it up to the ICU waiting room, we were shown the chalkboard, ice machine, coffee maker, etc. The only drawback was that there were no cups to use any of these things. :-) But that's ok, I bought a bottle of water down the hall. We were very impressed & everyone was so nice. We will DEFINITELY recommend your hosp. Thank you SO much!
